How Hilotherm works

The Hilotherm machine cools distilled water to a specific temperature set to the patient's needs. The water is circulated in small tubes (like capillaries) around a specific anatomic pad/cuff that is applied to the skin over a surgical site. The temperature of the circulating water can be adjusted for comfort to help reduce pain, swelling and bruising.

Unlike ice based treatments, the temperature is regulated and can be used for as long as desired post operatively with many patients using the treatment almost continuously in the 72 hours post surgery.
